About This Problem
Gauge problems are usually a sender, a sensor, or a wiring fault, not the gauge itself. On modern digital systems, a network connection or gateway can take out the whole display.
Gauges dead or reading wrong? Call Ethan and he’ll help you figure out if it’s a sensor, wiring, or the display.
Call 786-351-5363Most Common Causes
These are the causes we find most often.
Fuel sender
A stuck or failed fuel sender gives a wrong or stuck reading.
Engine sensors
Bad temperature or pressure sensors send wrong readings.
Harness or ground
A bad harness or ground affects one gauge or all of them.
Digital network or gateway
On networked gauges, a gateway problem can blank the display.
Old gauges
Sometimes the gauge itself fails and needs replacing.

Every call goes straight to Ethan, the owner of EG Marine Services and the mechanic who does the work. There’s no receptionist taking a message and no waiting on a callback from someone who’s never seen your boat.
Tell him what’s going on: the alarm on the display, the noise at idle, the engine that won’t turn over. Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my fuel gauge stuck?
Usually a stuck or failed fuel sender in the tank, or a wiring fault.
Can a bad sensor cause an alarm?
Yes. A failed sensor can trigger a false alarm. We test to make sure it’s the sensor and not the engine.
Do you install new gauges?
Yes, including digital gauges and multifunction displays.
