How often does a Honda outboard need service?
Once a year or every 100 hours, whichever comes first. Larger services with the timing belt and more come at higher hours, and we’ve done a full 1000 hour service on a Honda 250 that had 3,500 hours on it.
Why is my Honda outboard overheating?
Common causes are a worn water pump impeller, stuck or corroded thermostats, and salt buildup in the cooling passages. We’ve replaced thermostats on twin Honda 225s for exactly this.
How much does Honda outboard repair cost?
