EG Mobile Marine Services (“EG Marine Services”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile marine service business in South Florida. This policy explains what information we collect through egmarineservices.com, our customer portal, and our boat logbook, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t take payments online.
1. Information we collect
When you contact us or request a quote: your name, phone number, email (if you give it), the service you need, your message, and the page you sent it from.
When you use the customer portal:
- Your email address, which is how you sign in, plus your name and phone number.
- Your boats and engines (brand, model, year, serial number, hull ID if you add it) and the engine hours you log.
- Your logbook entries: service history, notes, and dates.
- Files you upload, such as receipts, surveys, manuals, and photos.
- Your quotes and invoices, the parts and work on them, and the payments we record. Payments are made in person or by phone (cash, check, Zelle, card, or similar), never on this website.
- When you signed up and last signed in.
- If you were already our customer, your past quotes, invoices, and payments may be copied in from the shop software we used before.
When you play the fishing game: the name you choose for the leaderboard and your score. To stop spam, we briefly count plays per internet (IP) address. Those counts reset after an hour.
Basic technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider records standard request logs (such as IP address, browser, and pages visited) to keep the site running and secure.
2. How we use it
- To answer your request, give you a quote, schedule and do the work, and send invoices and receipts.
- To run your portal account: sign you in, keep your boat’s maintenance history, and show you when service is due.
- To email you about your account, such as sign-in links and when we send you a quote or invoice.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse.
3. Signing in and cookies
The portal has no passwords. When you sign in, we email you a 6-digit code and a link, or text the code to the mobile number on your account. Each works once and expires after 20 minutes. Codes are sent only for signing in; we don’t text you marketing. Opening it sets a single cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, or until you sign out. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Who can see your information
- You and EG Marine. Ethan and authorized EG Marine staff can see your account, boats, logbook, quotes, and invoices.
- Uploads are private by default to you. For each file you choose whether EG Marine can see it. Files you keep private aren’t shown to us in the portal.
- Buyer share link. If you turn on sharing for a boat, anyone with that link can see its service history and the files you marked to show buyers. You can turn the link off at any time, and the old link stops working.
- Service providers that run the site for us, only to provide their service: Vercel (hosting, file storage, and cookieless visit statistics), Upstash (database), Resend (email delivery), CallTrackingMetrics (phone calls and text messages), and Jotform (forwarding website requests to us). They process data on servers in the United States.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and service records while your account is open, because a boat’s maintenance history is most useful when it’s complete. We keep invoices and payment records as long as tax and business rules require. Website requests that don’t lead to work are removed once we’ve handled them.
6. Your choices
- You can update your details, boats, and logbook in the portal at any time, and delete files you uploaded.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to close your account and delete your uploads and records, except records we must keep by law. Call 786-351-5363.
7. Security
Sign-in links, sessions, and share links are signed so they can’t be forged. Uploaded files are stored privately and only served to people allowed to see them. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your email account safe, because anyone who can read your email can sign in to your portal.
8. Children
Our services and the portal are for boat owners and are not meant for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
